Saratoga Race Course embraces sustainability with plant-based products

Saratoga Springs, NY (WRGB) — We are in the homestretch of the Saratoga racing season, and in one way it’s been a very different season at the race course.

NYRA has gone largely tree-free and plastic-free at the track with a new line of sustainable products.

Emerald Ecovations, based on Long Island, has been providing the Saratoga Race Course with a wide variety of sustainable products made from plant fibers instead of trees.

We’re talking cups, bowls, containers, napkins, tissues and utensils.

Ralph Bianculli is the company’s president and CEO. He says his environmentally responsible products help combat deforestation and plastic pollution.
