ANEAS, Universidad Anáhuac Partner to Boost Water Sustainability

The National Association of Water and Sanitation Entities of Mexico (ANEAS) and Universidad Anáhuac México have formalized a collaboration agreement to advance sustainability and innovation in the country’s water sector. The signing took place on Aug. 14, 2025, at the CAD Auditorium on the university’s North Campus.

The agreement was signed by ANEAS President José Lara Lona, General Director Patricia Margarita Hernández Martínez, and Vice President Víctor Manuel Báez Melo, alongside Anáhuac representatives José Antonio Gea Guinovart, Director of Institutional Development; Dr. Nora Ricalde Alarcón, Director of the Anáhuac Center for Mexican Humanism; and Carlos Ramos Cárdenas Artigas, Director of the School of Social Responsibility.

Dr. Ricalde emphasized that the partnership aims to “promote sustainable solutions to the challenges facing water and the environment in Mexico,” highlighting that education and collaboration are key to ensuring a sustainable future for water management.

According to Lara Lona, the alliance will foster joint research projects, training programs, and the exchange of best practices to strengthen community resilience and improve water governance. “This agreement represents an opportunity to promote research projects, training, and the dissemination of good practices for the benefit of communities,” he said.

University leaders noted that the partnership extends beyond academia, focusing on projects that generate measurable social and environmental impact. “It’s an alliance that connects technical expertise with academic and social vision,” said Gea Guinovart, adding that it reinforces both institutions’ commitment to sustainable development.
