Oman Electricity Transmission Company reported strong results for 2025. The company supported national development goals under Oman Vision 2040. Progress was noted in operations, finance, and sustainability.
During the year, OETC worked on 35 strategic projects. Total investment went over 250 million Omani rials. The second phase of the Strategic Interconnection Project was more than 60 percent complete. Network expansion in Dhofar surpassed 90 percent completion. The Masirah Island connection project crossed the 50 percent mark. This project is Oman’s first offshore grid connection.
The company set up a Fault Current Limitation System for the 132 kilovolt network. A main grid station for the polysilicon plant in Suhar was energized. By the end of the year, there were 116 grid stations. The total length of transmission lines exceeded 10,400 kilometers.
Nine new projects were awarded in 2025. Their total value surpassed 250 million rials. These projects support three wind farms with a capacity of 1,220 megawatts and one solar project with a capacity of 500 megawatts. Annual carbon emissions reductions exceed 1.9 million tonnes.
By November 2025, renewable energy supplied 9.46 percent of grid electricity. This amounts to more than 4.26 million megawatt hours. Peak system demand reached 8,059 megawatts. Network reliability was at 99.9999 percent.
Financial achievements included the full repayment of one billion dollars in bonds. OETC issued a 750 million dollar Green Sukuk. Assets reached 1.8 billion rials. Omanisation reached 97 percent. Training programs surpassed 8,300.
