The foundation held its first board meeting for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The session was chaired by Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment. During the meeting, members approved internal regulations, the administrative structure, the budget, and the operational plan for the upcoming period.
Implementation Progress of Egypt Biogas Projects
Egypt biogas projects recorded measurable results between June and December 2025. A total of 1,932 biogas units were implemented across different governorates. These units produce about 2.1 million cubic metres of gas annually. The output equals approximately 70,000 LPG cylinders.
The units processed nearly 53,000 tonnes of animal waste. They also generated around 84,000 cubic metres of organic fertiliser. The fertiliser supported roughly 7,000 acres of agricultural land.
Officials reported that the projects supported around 9,500 beneficiaries. The program also contributed to the establishment of 31 bioenergy start-ups.
